MOSSEL BAY NEWS - On 3 December, members of the Dana Bay Conservancy visited the Mossel Bay Town Hall to properly and safely drop off some batteries and electronic waste (e-waste) in a responsible manner.
The conservancy also invited ward councillor Nickey le Roux to this drop-off gathering. e-waste is any electrical equipment that requires a plug or battery to function, that people no longer want or use.
Residents have been dropping off their batteries and e-waste for three weeks at the OK Grocer's entrance, after the conservancy had started advertising the initiative on 14 October.
About 13kg of batteries and 81kg of e-waste were collected. The Dana Bay Conser-vancy's chairperson, Erika van der Westhuizen, said: "We must dispose of our waste in a responsible manner to safeguard biodiversity and our future."
