Life Bay View Private Hospital expands capacity with new wing

BUSINESS NEWS - Patients in Mossel Bay and surrounding communities will now benefit from improved access to healthcare services, following the opening of a new wing at Life Bay View Private Hospital.

The east wing includes 27 extra intensive- and high-care beds, a new medical ward and expanded parking, to better meet the region's growing healthcare needs.

The expansion allows care to be delivered closer to home, easing pressure on existing hospital services and supporting healthcare professionals.

Life Healthcare's R183m investment strengthens the hospital's ability to respond to local medical needs and allows for future growth.

For patients, this expansion means improved hospital bed availability, access to specialised and high-care services, patient-centred care support, and added intensive care capacity for critically ill patients to be treated closer to their support networks.

The hospital's original intensive care unit has been renovated to align with this expansion.

For doctors, nurses and multidisciplinary teams, it provides space and infrastructure to continue delivering safe, quality care across the various fields. This development builds on previous hospital investments, including upgrades to specialised cardiac facilities and consulting rooms, and reflects a commitment to strengthening healthcare services for the community.
