Mossel Bay elections: The counting’s done - here’s your Council

MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Municipal Council has 33 seats to be filled following the local government elections.

The parties (and their number of seats) that will be represented in Council for the next term are as follows:

• DA: 21
• ANC: 4
• FF Plus: 3
• PA: 3
• EFF: 1
• SACP: 1.

Both the EFF and the SACP are new additions to the Council. Two parties that each lost their one and only seat, however, are the ACDP and Icosa, who are now no longer represented in Council.

Both the PA and the FF Plus have one more seat each than the previous term. The ANC, meanwhile, has one fewer.

The DA’s mayoral candidate, Dirk Kotzé, said for the first time in Mossel Bay’s history, more than 50 000 residents voted in the local government elections.
