MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The woman accused of defrauding the Diaz Hotel and Resort of almost R1.5m has had her case postponed again.
Cindy Bessinger (31), who faces almost 40 counts of fraud, appeared in the Mossel Bay Regional Court on Wednesday 12 August.
The matter was postponed to 22 September, and her bail of R20 000 was extended.
The charges relate to some allegedly fraudulent invoices for services and products provided to the hotel between October 2024 and March 2025. Bessinger allegedly arranged for the payments to be made into her own bank account and, in some instances, her former boyfriend’s.
The hotel had previously employed her in an administrative capacity.
