Da Gamaskop station honours its members

MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Members of the Da Gamaskop Police Station in Mossel Bay enjoyed a morning of glitz and glamour during the station's awards held at Misty Valley Farm on Friday 30 October.

The event served as the station's year-end function and a way to honour and appreciate its members' good work throughout the year.

Lieutenant colonels Edi Williams, Maria Gerber and Erica Diedericks received appreciation awards from the Da Gamaskop Police Station Commander, Colonel Thembisile Senaya.

Hannelie Marais of the Da Gamaskop CPF also received an appreciation award, and Sergeant Elwynand Karelse was crowned detective of the year for his work in securing long prison sentences for some of the criminal cases he worked on.

The Garden Route District Police Commissioner, Major General Phumzile Cetyana, delivered an inspiring message centred on commitment, excellence, perseverance and the importance of recognising every member's contribution to the success of the police service.
