MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The iOceans Trust, which organises outings and information sessions to uplift the youth in Mossel Bay, hosted a Youth Leadership Day this month.
In collaboration with the Wonderful Foundation, the trust hosted the event on Workers' Day, 1 May, in the Indoor Sport Centre in Sampson Street, KwaNonqaba.
IOceans noted in a press release: "Among those who attended were Nathalia Komami and her daughter, Sonia, who first connected with iOceans Trust through a Rotary dental community outreach event.
"Their ongoing involvement reflects the core principle of iOceans’ youth programme: from learning to leading."
The press release stated that Nathalia also participated in a cultural heritage walking tour through the historic centre of Mossel Bay, conducted by Heritage Mossel Bay's chairperson Carina Wiggill, as part of an orientation for new tourism volunteers.
The tour marks ongoing steps in preparing the town for cruise tourism while instilling civic pride and historical awareness in volunteers.
“We see time and again that showing up and volunteering opens new pathways,” iOceans pointed out.
“Whether through heritage, marine awareness or community upliftment, these moments build lasting connections and shape future leaders.”
