There were singing, spoken word, guitar and keyboard numbers. A highlight was creative signing by Ronel Maree. Since the age of six she has had a passion for sign language, although she is not deaf. She became a deaf, blind and South African Sign Language interpreter.
Ronel did some passionate creative signing to Christian songs, including Amazing Grace at the Art Splash event.
Milkwood Primary School teacher, Shirene le Roux, had a "story corner" under a tree, which she decorated with props and where she had books on display. She read stories to a group of children.
Two artists, Lynda Murison and James Malgas were there, painting in the grounds. Malgas did a mural and Murison had set up her easel and was busy with a canvas.
Besides Ronel, the open mic line-up included Karin Cupido singing, Nigel Hartmann playing guitar, Clay Cupido also on guitar, Jeremy Pietersen on keyboard, singing by Elzette Scott and a spoken word piece by Nikita Bodill.
The tables at the cafe were full and patrons appeared to be enjoying the relaxed, fun, spontaneous, arty "vibe".
