MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Seventeen young lifesavers were recognised at the recent open municipal council meeting for their achievements in the 2025 DHL South African Lifesaving Championship.
These youngsters come from various schools and lifesaving clubs in the Mossel Bay area. They participated in age categories from U10 to U17.
Speaker Venolea Fortuin said it is important to acknowledge the great achievements of our young people, and took the opportunity to commend them for their bravery and the excellent work they do.
“To the parents and the trainers, the management responsible for ensuring that these young stars reach their full potential: on behalf of Council, thank you very much for the work you are doing in shaping them to become the best versions of themselves, reaching their full potential.”
The Mossel Bay Municipality said the town’s lifesaving clubs continue to make a real impact by training the youth in essential lifesaving skills - keeping our beaches safer and building a stronger, more prepared community.
