MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Teachers from Mossel Bay's various primary and high schools attended a Teacher Appreciation Day at Diaz Primary School on Wednesday 5 August, hosted by the Eden and Central Karoo Educational District (Ecked).
The theme was 'Teachers are Heroes', and the day was attended by Mossel Bay's Mayor Dirk Kotzé and Ecked's district director, Jewel Jonkers, among others.
In a message posted on Facebook following the event, Kotzé wrote that this year's theme was incredibly fitting.
"Heroes are those who dedicate themselves to the well-being of others, who sacrifice, who inspire, and who build. In our community, teachers embody this spirit every day.

They are the heroes who shape young minds, nurture dreams, and lay the foundation for a brighter future," reads the post.
Certificates were handed to each school principal in attendance as a token of appreciation.
