MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Round Tablers old and new gathered last weekend to honour current and past members, as well as to welcome a new one.
Round Table - Mossel Bay 32 embraced this new chapter with a black-tie celebration at the Mossel Bay Golf Club on Saturday evening, 20 September.
Guests were made up of an intimate and stylish gathering of Tablers, a few municipal officials, representatives from Rotary Mossel Bay and their partners.
Surrounded by their Table brothers, the members raised their glasses to a renewed commitment to positive change and with that inducted their newest member, Aydn Parrott.
As the official youngest member, Parrott’s induction into Round Table - Mossel Bay 32 also happens to coincide with the year he turned 32.
Chairperson Gert Theron fixes new member Aydn Parrott’s official Round Table pin to his lapel.
Former chairpersons were also recognised on the evening, receiving engraved mugs, a long-standing tradition.
The current chairperson, Gert Theron, recognises the former chairperson and current secretary, AB Tromp.
In short, Round Table offers a space in which young men (18 to 40) come together to make a difference in their communities, whether through the Table’s own fundraising efforts or collaborations with other like-minded organisations.
And not to worry; members entering their 40s become part of the 41ers - they even receive an official 41ers engraved cane.
These men may choose to remain involved in the Table and also provide guidance to the current members.
