MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Members of the KwaNonqaba Police and the KwaNonqaba CPF celebrated Women's Day by hosting a Sports Against Crime Netball Tournament for several primary schools in the greater Mossel Bay area on Saturday 9 August.
The tournament, held in Herbertsdale, saw teams from Isalathiso Primary, Garden Route Primary, Global Academy of Education and Herbertsdale Primary compete for the coveted trophy.
The organisers said the idea was to bring a tournament to the rural areas and expose the schools to tougher competition.
KwaNonqaba CPF's Otto Ploog and the rest of the team opened the proceedings with a message of hope and pride for women and girls.
They were encouraged not to keep quiet in the face of domestic violence and to speak up when others cannot.

The tournament itself saw some tough and fast-paced matches, and each school supported its team with pride. The winners, however, were Isalathiso's team. Garden Route placed second and Herbertsdale came in third.
Following the tournament, KwaNon-qaba's Community in Blue and the CPF went into the Herbertsdale community to dish out some soup to the residents.
The team was led by KwaNonqaba's rural sector commander, Warrant Officer JC Brink. The organisers thanked all the sponsors who helped make the day a success.
