MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Over 800 people came to pay their respects to Keano Brown (23) and his family at the funeral service held for him last Saturday, 12 July.
Brown was stabbed in Ext 13, Mossel Bay, on the evening of 6 July.
Tributes honouring Brown and condolen-ces for his family poured in across social media as the news of his murder broke that evening and the following day.
The family's spokesperson, Friedle Saayman, said the funeral, held at the Holy Nativity Anglican Church in Mossel Bay, was also broadcast live on YouTube and had garnered over 6 000 views, proof of how loved Brown was in and around Mossel Bay.
Saayman said Brown was a very humble person, always willing to help others no matter how he was feeling - other people's needs were his main concern.
"Keano loved sport very much, especially rugby," said Saayman. He said Keano had played for SWD throughout his high school career and was chosen to play for the U18 SA rugby team as well.
"Keano loved playing golf, and spending quality time with his family and his friends."
Saayman added that Keano was about to enrol at the Africa Skills Training College in George to start training as an artisan.
"Keano wanted to make a success of his life in order to give his mother, Jessica, a better life. Keano really loved his mother with everything in him," he said.
