KWANONQABA NEWS - After five years of academic excellence, Indwe Secondary School’s Musa Mbolelwa walked away from his matric year with seven distinctions under his belt.
Mbolelwa’s peers erupted into thunderous applause when it was announced that he was the top matric learner for 2025 when they received their National Senior Certificate results today, 13 January.
Mbolelwa was already a top-performing learner at Indwe Secondary. When asked if he was shocked by the number of distinctions he achieved, he simply replied: “No.”
Among his seven distinctions, Musa scored 98% for physical sciences and 95% for mathematics.
His mother, Noxolo Yantolo, told Mossel Bay Advertiser she is unbelievably proud of her son.
Mbolelwa will be pursuing a qualification in mechatronics engineering, a combination of the principles of mechanics, electronics and computing, at the University of Cape Town this year.
Indwe Secondary achieved a pass rate of 85.7%. “We are so proud of you,” said the school’s principal, Ntsikelelo Ngcenge.
“You have pushed yourselves and your hard work has paid off.”
Two other Indwe Secondary learners also told the Advertiser of their plans for the future. Friends Lupho Tyesi and Sivuyile
Maliwa will both be pursuing higher education, one at Nelson Mandela University and the other at Stellenbosch University.
“It’s been a long 12 years. I can’t wait to leave,” said Tyesi.
