SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - Hulle, a fast-rising Afrikaans pop music duo which invigorated charts across the country with their hit single Laaste Asem, is booked to perform at Garden Route Casino's Bravo Lounge on 8 February.
"The two highly ambitious and talented young stars, Johan Oberholzer and Wilmaré Rautenbach have been sweeping audiences off their feet since they paired up to form Hulle in 2011," said a spokesperson for the Garden Route Casino's marketing division.
With a music deal with Sony Music, they also completed an album's worth of confirmatory brilliance to support their lyrically rich and brilliantly produced first single.
Lyrically, Hulle is a celebration of real occurrences. Many of their songs are based on script written from shared experience, each one telling a story. Their music is informed by an unusual marriage of Irish and Swedish tradition; the two combined is a sure-fire recipe to get people on their feet.
Their show at Bravo Lounge promises all the character, flare and dynamism for which Hulle has become renowned. "This is a not-to-be-missed treat for fans of Hulle and all music lovers with a taste for the growing and always-changing genre of Afrikaans pop. This pair is a breath of fresh air and their music is exciting and decidedly different to what people expect. We are thrilled to be having Johan and Wilmaré on our stage in February," says the casino's Promotions Coordinator, Tryana Potgieter.
They're on stage from 20:00 and entrance is R20. Potgieter advises fans to arrive early to ensure a seat.
Hulle is one in a long lineup of bands, artists and entertainers being booked to perform at the Bravo Lounge this summer. January performances still include Christo and Kobus and Munro du Toit. For a full schedule of what's happening at the Bravo Lounge, visit www.gardenroutecasino.co.za.
