MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A man has survived a gunshot wound to the face while another has died from a shot to his chest following a shooting incident in Adriaans Avenue, Asla Park, on Saturday evening, 18 October.
The KwaNonqaba Police Station’s spokesperson, Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp, said the two victims had been with a few other people in an Adriaans Avenue residence just before 21:30 when one of the victims, the one who was killed, opened the door and saw a man approaching.
As he tried to close the door again, the man began shooting, hitting him in the chest, while another shot hit the other victim in his face.
The suspect fled and the two victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The one who was shot in the chest was declared dead. The other victim has since been discharged.
Kapp said the names of the deceased and the survivor cannot be released at this stage due to the ongoing investigations. He said the deceased’s next of kin also needs to be informed of the death.
