Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Xolisa Msizi, the second accused in the case against Sergeant Jacobus ‘JM’ Spangenberg of the K9 Langeberg Unit, appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court today, 13 October, for the furthering of his bail application.
Msizi was arrested on Wednesday 9 October.
However, during court today, the matter was postponed again to Wednesday 15 October, due to an overwhelming number of cases on the court roll and the absence of the magistrate presiding over the case.
Mossel Bay Advertiser has applied for the court’s permission to photograph Msizi during his next appearance.
The outcome of that application will also be determined on Wednesday.
Msizi and Spangenberg are facing charges of corruption, fraud, possession of explosives and defeating the ends of justice.
Spangenberg was granted bail of R5 000 under strict conditions during his court appearance on 9 October and will reappear in court on 3 December.
Msizi remains in police custody until Wednesday.
