Rhino cow and calf killed on Jeffreys Bay game farm

NATIONAL NEWS - A rhino cow and her calf have been killed on a Jeffreys Bay game farm.

The animals were shot on Wednesday night.

The owner of the 1 300ha Lombardini game farm, Johan Lottering was quoted as saying that the poachers knew exactly what they were doing.

He said each animal had one shot through the heart and lungs.

Lottering praised the Green Scorpions and police for their rapid and professional response, but said the wind and the rain had already erased most of the poachers’ tracks.
