Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Harry Giddey Park case docket is now back at the Mossel Bay Police Station.
Mossel Bay Advertiser had previously reported that it was unclear who had the docket or where it was after the paper had sent media enquiries requesting feedback on the investigation to the Western Cape Police and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).
Eric Ntabazalila, the provincial spokesperson for the NPA, responded on 11 August that the docket had been returned to the police for further investigation.
A follow-up media enquiry was sent to the Western Cape Police today, 19 August. A Southern Cape Police Spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie, responded that the docket had been at the NPA at the time of the query, and was reported as such. He said the Mossel Bay detectives received the docket two days after the Advertiser’s enquiry.
Pojie said the docket was returned with guidance from the NPA on further enquiries that need to be conducted with the Mossel Bay Municipality and the Garden Route SPCA.
“The case docket will be resubmitted to the NPA upon completion of the investigation,” he said.
