MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Members of the AmaZangwa clan from throughout South Africa were hosted for their national conference by the Mossel Bay branch of the clan.
The conference took place from 27 to 29 September in the Isalathiso Primary School hall, under the leadership of Nozipho Maxam, one of the local organising team.
Good turnout
There was a good turnout - about 95 attendees, said Maxam.
The annual conference is held in a town nominated at the general meeting, which forms part of the conference each year.
Such gatherings include discussions about the amaZangwa's wellbeing and other relevant topics.
Unity
The theme of this conference was Unity, which Mossel Bay's executive mayor, Alderman Dirk Kotzé, discussed at the conference. Phumeza Nondula, a teacher at Garden Route High School, received a donation of sanitary towels for the schoolgirls as part of a community development project by the AmaZangwa.
Thank you
Maxam said: "On behalf of the national executive committee and the amaZangwa clan organising committee, we thank the mayor and ward one councillor, Sibabalo Mvakwendlu, for accepting the invitation and attending."
She said the next AmaZangwa conference would take place in Paarl from 26 to 28 September 2025.
"AmaZangwa from all provinces are invited to affiliate with their local branches and become members of the amaZangwa Clan nationality."
