MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Natasha Buis (33), Samuel Kannemeyer (42) and Yamkela Nzima (31), who stand accused of stabbing a 40-year-old man during a robbery on Diaz Beach early in July, made another appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 28 July for the finalisation of their bail applications.
Buis was granted bail of R500; however, she is still in police custody as she has not been able to raise her bail amount.
Nzima and Kannemeyer were both denied bail and remain in police custody until their next court appearance on 26 August.
According to a spokesperson for the Southern Cape Police, Warrant Officer Chris Spies, the victim was reading on his iPad on Diaz Beach on the day of the incident, when the suspects approached him.
They allegedly stabbed him three times in the back with a sharp object and stole his iPad, as well as some jewellery, and fled the scene on foot.
The victim attempted to pursue the suspects, but was unsuccessful. He was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. His current condition is not known.
Shortly after the investigation was started, the three were arrested, and the iPad was recovered and returned to the victim.
The three are facing charges of robbery with aggravated circumstances and attempted murder.
“The investigation continues,” said Spies.
