MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The seven people arrested in connection with the Herbertsdale shooting that left four people injured on Sunday afternoon, 6 July, appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court yesterday, 8 July.
Their case was not enrolled in court due to outstanding documents, and they have been released from police custody. The case is expected to be enrolled again once all the documents are in place.
The KwaNonqaba Police Station’s spokesperson, Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp, previously told Mossel Bay Advertiser that at about 13:00 on Sunday, a shooting incident had taken place between two groups of people.
Four people between the ages of 28 and 35 were wounded and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Kapp said a firearm had been confiscated from the scene.
It is understood that two of the victims are currently in the Mossel Bay Hospital, while the other two are in George Hospital.
The seven alleged shooters were arrested later that same day after various police stations had been alerted to the incident and the suspects’ vehicles were traced and flagged down.
The KwaNonqaba Police are investigating three cases of attempted murder and one case of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
