MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Seven were arrested for a shoot-out in Herberstdale in which four people were injured yesterday afternoon, 6 July.
The KwaNonqaba Police Station’s spokesperson, Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp, said the shooting, between two groups of people, took place at about 13:00.
He said four people between the ages of 28 and 35 were rushed to a nearby hospital after they had been wounded in the incident. It is as yet unclear what their conditions are.
Kapp said various police stations in the greater Mossel Bay area were alerted to the incident. The vehicles of those allegedly involved were flagged down and seven people were arrested.
One firearm was also confiscated from the scene of the shooting. The seven are currently in custody in several police stations.
Kapp said three cases of attempted murder and one case of assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm have been opened.
He said more arrests are imminent. The investigating officer is Sergeant Vusumzi Ndala. If anyone has any information about this incident, contact him on 044 606 5629.
