MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay ceramicist Minda du Plessis and painter Kobus Spies have once again collaborated for a joint exhibition this week, showcasing uniquely crafted paintings, pottery and jewellery.
This is the fourth year this duo has hosted an exhibition open to the Mossel Bay public, this one titled ‘Bloom’.
Du Plessis told Mossel Bay Advertiser each exhibition is a collaboration between herself and Spies, and a third party they have invited to join.
This year, the Walter Battiss Company has displayed some of South African artist Walter Battiss’ artworks, including prints, textiles and ceramics, alongside those made by Du Plessis and Spies.

The two local artists have worked on their paintings, pottery and jewellery pieces throughout the year in preparation for this week’s exhibition.
“By the final two months before the exhibition, that’s when we rush to get the final touches done,” said Du Plessis.
The exhibition opened on Wednesday evening, 3 December, and will continue until 13:00 on Saturday 6 December.
Anyone interested in viewing it can do so at 1 Kapokbos Street at the Village on Sea housing complex in Heiderand, Mossel Bay, from 10:00 today and tomorrow.
