FRIEMERSHEIM NEWS - Fourie Ackermann, a "celebrity" artist from the Mossel Bay area, appeared on the programme, Kwêla, on television recently.
Kwêla has interviewed illustrious people such as Elon Musk's father, Errol.
Ackermann became well known during the Covid 19 pandemic when he painted extremely life-like, realistic murals on houses in the village of Friemersheim, inland from Mossel Bay.
He lives on a farm in the Friemersheim area.
Ackermann was commissioned by President Cyril Ramaphosa to do an artwork for a conference centre and to paint Nguni cattle for Ramaphosa himself.
In the interview near the end of last year on Kwêla, Ackermann speaks about his interest in art, which started when he was a child at school.
His career has taken him to Malaysia and Bulgaria.
He has painted sets for movies including Blood Diamond, which starred Leonardo diCaprio.
Ackermann described his paintings on the houses in Friemersheim as a "love project", for which he did not charge money. People had asked him to do murals on their houses during the pandemic.
The Kwêla show includes a short interview with Ackermann's wife, Mindy.
Ackermann also speaks on the show about one of his most recent projects, a huge mural at the popular game reserve, Botlierskop, outside Mossel Bay.
The mural is at the children's play area at the game reserve.
