MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The KwaNonqaba Police urge the community to come forward with information to assist them in the investigation of violent robberies which took place on 28 and 29 August.
KwaNonqaba Police spokesperson Sergeant Kappie Kapp said: “We are looking for three suspects: two African males and a brown man.
"Incidents reported show the same pattern. The suspects are targeting single-parent or small households, as well as people, especially women, living alone.
"We believe the robberies were well planned, based on knowledge of the area and those residing in it.
"The suspects seem to have watched their victims carefully, knowing exactly where and when to attack. The robberies took place in the early morning hours and victims were accosted with pangas. The suspects fled, in most cases, with cellphones and cash,” Kapp said.
Shaun Gelderbloem (alias Strale) has been identified as a person who can assist the police in the investigation.

Following a report earlier this week, placed online by the Mossel Bay Advertiser, a 26-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the robberies. He will appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court this week.
Kapp commended the community for coming forward with information which lead to the arrest. He also urged the community to act proactively in preventing crime.
"Be on the lookout for suspicious people, moving in groups, especially those who do not reside in a particular neighbourhood. Store useful contact numbers of the police or neighbourhood watch structures on your phone to report anything that looks untoward."
Kapp also said victims should not resist robbers. "It is important, despite the traumatic experience, to take note of anything that can help the police trace and identify perpetrators. Take note of clothing, tattoos, maybe an accent and way of speech. However, try to avoid eye contact with robbers as this can aggravate an already volatile situation," Kapp warned.
He also advised that residents sharpen up security at their properties.
"If you own a dog, do not ignore its barking at night. It is a good warning sign."
Anyone with information regarding these incidents is requested to contact Warrant Officer Lubbe (044 606 5633).
