MOSSEL BAY NEWS - FC Benfica were crowned the overall champions in the Mossel Bay Local Football Association (Molfa) Domestic League.
This comes after beating Africa City FC on penalty shoot-outs during the deciding clash in Ext 23 in Mossel Bay on Sunday afternoon, 2 August.
The teams were tied with two goals each at full-time. Benfica emerged victorious, earning their league trophy with four penalty goals against Africa City’s one.
Both teams gained promotions to the highly rated Molfa Promotional League for the upcoming 2026/27 season.
During their campaign in stream A, Benfica played 14 fixtures, winning 11, drawing in one and losing two, which had earned them 34 points.
On the other side, Africa City were the winners in stream B. They also played 14 fixtures: 13 victories, one draw and zero losses, earning them 49 points in their stream.
The teams will now be rubbing shoulders with Mossel Bay’s finest as they head into the promotional league.
