MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay man Robert Pace, who is facing several charges of fraud amounting to millions of rands, made a brief appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court last Wednesday, 25 February.
Pace allegedly received millions of rands from several victims, mostly pensioners, after telling them he was a developer and had earmarked a piece of land for a housing development.
Mossel Bay Advertiser previously reported that Pace had allegedly received the payments between 2018 and 2024 from people who had wanted to buy some land on his so-called development.
Nineteen cases had been reported to the police, the total amount almost R3m.
The Da Gamaskop Police arrested Pace on 29 July 2024, and on 6 August that year, he was granted bail of R10 000.
He is expected to appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court again on 24 March.
