MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The SPCA sleepathon fundraiser took place in Mossel Bay on Friday, 29 November.
When the Mossel Bay Home Ads News visited the SPCA premises on Bill Jeffery Avenue, KwaNonqaba, animal lovers were there with their bedding and snacks for the night and they had each been allocated a kennel and a dog which is among those up for adoption at the SPCA.
The companies which supported the sleepathon were Mossel Bay Toyota, Santos Express Train Lodge, Fast Lane Digital and from Johannesburg, Identi-pet.
Paul Möller from Reebok, who is a fanatical animal lover and rescuer, was there. This was his seventh sleepathon. He has done the others for other animal welfare organisations. Paul was appropriately dressed: his T-shirt and cap had the words, The Dogfather, on them.

Angela O'Neale of Identi-pet, which implants micro-chips in pets to make tracing lost pets easier, and her partner Stephan de Klerk were braaiing boerewors rolls to sustain the sleepathon volunteers.
The charge for sleeping over was R100 and companies and members of the public had been invited to sleep over either in a tent or in kennels.
On the Saturday, Identi-pet was in attendance at the SPCA, doing micro-chipping of pets for a small fee and it was a general open day for the public to attend in order to raise funds.

Shaun van Appel of Santos Express Train Lodge, Rachel Barber of Fast Lane Digital and Val-Jean Erasmus of Mossel Bay Toyota showed they care for animals by sleeping over at the SPCA.
