MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Executive mayor Alderman Harry Levendal officially handed over the keys to 20 new toilets to the community of Joe Slovo.
"We are gladly doing this handover today," the mayor said on Friday, 28 September.
"Some may regard this as insignificant, but having proper ablutions will assist in restoring the dignity of the residents here," said Alderman Levendal.
The mayor appealed to the residents to take responsibility for the toilets and infrastructure that were installed at a total cost of R420 000.
Members of the community, however, expressed their concern for the safety of women and children especially who, owing to the absence of street lights, have to walk to the toilets in the dark.
