MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEO - On Tuesday, 18 July, the Dias Museum held an open day, with a special programme for the public.
Nelson Mandela would have turned 105 that day.
The first 105 visitors between 13:00 and 14:07 (67 minutes) received a free cup of homemade soup and a bread roll, served from under the world-famous Post Office Tree.
Henry Fredericks entertained the guest with a Salsa dancing demonstration and then gave them a quick lesson, which brought a lot of laughter.
Danie Koch, a dog trainer, and his well-known sniffer dog Stix, a Border collie, also gave a show, demonstrating how Stix can detect 11 types of drugs, as well as the shellfish, abalone, whether it is wet or dry.
At the Shell Museum, Renette Bosch from Mosselbaai Troeteldiere, displayed her cute baby African Grey parrots and offered free advice to the public.
