Khune was sent off against AmaZulu last Thursday by referee Phillip Tinyane and the Bafana Bafana goalminder made drama out of it. For his first yellow card, Tinyane saw it as time wasting, and instead of focusing on restarting the game, Khune charged at assistant referee protesting the yellow card.
This then prompted Tinyane to send him off. “The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has written to Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune as per provisions of the PSL Rules to admit or deny certain comments attributed to him on the social media network Twitter on Thursday, 09 April 2015,” a PSL stamen reads.
“The comments related to match officials appointed to officiate the Absa Premiership fixture between Kaizer Chiefs and Amazulu on 09 April 2015.
