NATIONAL NEWS - Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown has told lawmakers probing state capture that she’s not trying to muzzle their inquiry, insisting that she wants a "fair and just" process.
Prior to testifying in the inquiry on Wednesday night, Brown likened the process to a kangaroo court.
Since the start of the probe last month, MPs have heard testimonies from former Eskom officials and whistleblowers who’ve pointed to the influence of the Guptas, or their associates, at the state-owned power utility.
The Public Enterprises ministry has been critical of the inquiry, particularly of its evidence leader Advocate Ntuthuzelo Vanara.
Last night, Vanara accused the minister of being "obstructionist".
"Asking all of these questions, it would appear, for the sake of asking questions, not for the sake of assisting the committee."
