MOSSEL BAY NEWS -  The bail hearing of the man accused of strangling Glenda Sali (46) to death in KwaNonqana at the end of June has been postponed to 14 September.

Zukani Matose (37) appeared for his bail application on Monday 3 August, when the case was postponed.

Matose is accused of murdering Sali at her home in Bantom Street on 10 June. The two were acquainted.

KwaNonqaba Police opened an inquest docket following Sali’s death. After responding to the scene, emergency services declared her dead at the house where she was found with bruises around her neck. The cause of her death was at that stage unclear.

Based on preliminary reports, it is now alleged that Matose had strangled her to death.

Groundwork from the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Geoffrey Moos, as well as Detective Sergeant José Cunha and members of the KwaNonqaba Crime Protection Unit, constables Adrian Sheriff, Donovan Duitsjan and Emmanuel Mirenzkeni, under the leadership of Sergeant Janine Adams, saw to Matose’s arrest at the start of July. He briefly appeared in court and has been in custody since.
