They will have to wait another week to learn if the vital commuter service would be disrupted or not.
The United National Transport Union (Untu) last week warned that thousands of passengers
should brace themselves for the labour action.
The union had failed to reach an agreement about payment and salary negotiations with Gautrain operator Bombela.
Gautrain employees demand a 9% pay rise while Bombela was offering 7%.
Commuters received a week-long reprieve on Monday thanks to a Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) ruling.
It gave Bombela seven days to hand in a formal application to back its claim that Untu was no longer the majority union at Bombela.
