The printed version of Autodealer is a well-known weekly motoring supplement that was established in 2003. It is currently inserted and distributed in 20 community newspapers.
"From the first issue in August, the Motoring Guide Southern Cape will participate on this digital platform which will give our readers and advertisers access to online advertising," says Nicole Rimbault, the operations director of Group Editors.
Group Editors publishes the George Herald, Mossel Bay Advertiser, Knysna-Plett Herald, Oudtshoorn Courant and South Cape Forum into which the Motoring Guide Southern Cape is a weekly insert with 44 000 readers that purchase these community newspapers.
"Community newspapers are the only sector of the printed media to show sustained growth and expanding our online presence further means we will also be tapping into the fastest growing media segment. Online provides an interactive portal for motoring enthusiasts and the immediacy of news is attractive in the age of the 'impatient consumer'," she commented.
The vehicle search engine www.autodealer.co.za will facilitate private sales and give dealers access to advertise. A major benefit of the virtual world for advertisers is the versatility and speed with which vehicles can be marketed.
"The latest motoring news and price lists are available and online banners would give advertisers the added benefit of national exposure," said Rimbault.
