MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Delegates of Mossel Bay Municipality and the City of Denpasar, Indonesia, this week commemorated the fifth year since they forged a mutually beneficial twinning agreement.
The official anniversary is 27 November.
As part of the celebration, a webinar was held on 26 November, involving the two local government organisations, during an engagement called Mosspasar.
Live streamed from the council chambers of the Mossel Bay Municipality the theme of the webinar was Empowerment of Disability for a Better Life: We are Strong for Disability.
Mossel Bay municipal manager Colin Puren summarised the twinning agreement as follows:
"Twinning agreements like this are not merely ceremonial; they are bridges that connect communities, foster shared learning and create pathways for mutual growth.
"At their core, twinning agreements are about building relationships that transcend borders.
"South Africa and Indonesia share rich cultural diversity, histories of resilience and a shared vision for sustainable development.
"By formalising our partnership, we open doors for exchanging ideas, resources, and expertise that benefit both communities.
"These exchanges bring practical solutions to shared challenges.”
The scope of the cooperation includes culture and tourism promotion, creative economic development and capacity building of human resources.
