MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The police arrested a 44-year-old man in connection with the attempted robbery of a 31-year-old man on Diaz Beach, Mossel Bay, on Saturday 22 August.
According to a spokesperson for the Southern Cape Police, Warrant Officer Chris Spies, the victim was allegedly approached by two suspects on the beach at about 07:40 that Saturday.
A struggle ensued when the suspects attempted to rob the victim of his cellphone, which he managed to get back.
The police apprehended one of the suspects - the 44-year-old - shortly afterwards. At this stage, it is unclear if the second suspect has been arrested yet.
The Da Gamaskop Police are currently investigating a case of robbery.
The arrested suspect is expected to appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court once he has been charged.
