MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Local filmmaker Luc Prinsloo hosted a premiere of this hard hitting short film, Guilt, last week.
The short film deals with the stark reality of drunk driving and its aftermath. The premiere was hosted at Diaz Hotel on Thursday, 21 April.
Prinsloo said at the premiere that he was inspired to share a message regarding the prevalence of drunk driving in Mossel Bay.
"It has come to my attention that driving under the influence of alcohol, is a much bigger problem in Mossel Bay than most people think. This was just a way of creating greater awareness of how an irresponsible act can affect many lives," Prinsloo said.
Prinsloo filmed with a crew of five, all new to the filming world.
"It was a first on set shooting a film for all these guys and I must say, they impressed me regardless."
The shoot took place over two days and locations in Mossel Bay, Aalwyndal and Great Brak River was used. Furthermore, the film was produced with the full cooperation of the local traffic department, who also made a screen debut.
Prinsloo said that during the production planning and filming process, it was quite a eye opener speaking to traffic officials regarding the topic of his short flick.

The lead in Guilt, is played by Jackson Emperor, a resident from Asla. Emperor also works as Prinsloo's second cameraman on other shoots.
Prinsloo recently worked on a series with cabaret singer and songwriter, Petronel Baard, named Petronel Gesels.
He also produced a music video, Branderkind for Coffee Snobs in 2021.
Guilt is available on YouTube from Tuesday, 26 April.
