MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A 22-year-old man from Mossel Bay will remain in custody after he allegedly raped a dog.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Chris Spies said Da Gamaskop police are investigating a case of bestiality following an alleged incident at Extension 8 in Mossel Bay on Tuesday, 16 June.
Spies said the suspect appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrates Court for the first time on Thursday, 18 June, and remains in custody.
It is believed that the dog’s owner, whose pet is named Caeser, opened the case at the police station.
Meanwhile, the Garden Route SPCA Mossel Bay branch posted a video on its Facebook page regarding the incident.
In the video, field officer Luciano Bayi said the dog’s owner and other witnesses allegedly saw what happened.

The SPCA said the dog was in pain and had to be sedated so that the examination could be completed.
Caeser is recovering at the SPCA and will be returned to his owners once he has recovered.
The police investigation is ongoing.
