They started the day by dressing in pink, after which the walk started at the back gate of SeaVuna and led by the two ladies from Cancer.vive.
Local participants in the annual Cancervive cancer awareness campaign, Magda Geldenhuys and Amy Jansen, both breast cancer survivors, visited shared their inspiring message of hope.
"I have been involved with this community event for the past four years and absolutely love doing it," said Magda.
After the walk, everyone came together in the canteen and listened to the stories of two cancer survivors. The medical sister on site also told everyone about the symptoms and how to detect breast cancer early to increase survival from cancer.
According to CANSA's website, breast cancer confronts women of all races, with a lifetime risk of 1 in 35 in South Africa, according to the 2007 National Cancer Registry.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
