MOSSEL BAY NEWS - "A fundamental concern for others in our individual and community lives would go a long way in making the world the better place we so passionately dreamt of," said Nelson Mandela.
Prosecutors from the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court sought to give life to these noble words on Mandela Day, Monday 18 July, by reaching out to some of the most vulnerable in the Mossel Bay community.
Lingelihle Old Age Home in KwaNonqaba supports the KwaNonqaba community by providing food on Mondays and Wednesdays to elderly residents.
Prosecutors Zandile Hobongwana and John Barnard, under the supervision of senior prosecutor Pieter Dempsey, visited Lingelihle to provide soup, bread and blankets to elderly men, women and children who are those members of the community often forgotten, yet most vulnerable to the cruelty and harshness of winter. More than thirty blankets were distributed to community members and hot soup was provided.
