MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay Municipality has lived up to its promise of cleaning up the Asla Park area.
Where heaps of rubble were evident until fairly recently, workers are now mopping up and cleaning streets. Street corners that were turned into informal refuse dumpsites have been cleaned and refuse removed.
"If only residents would respect the cleaned up areas now ...." a member of the public, who preferred to remain anonymous, said.
When the Mossel Bay Advertiser visited Asla Park this week, refuse bags were neatly stacked and ready for collection. Women responsible for sweeping the streets had hardly any dirt to collect, as the roadways were clean.
"The municipality is committed to quality service delivery," the director of community services, Elize Nel said.
About six weeks ago, on 13 September, filth and dirty water was an everyday experience for residents of Asla Park.
Since the Mossel Bay Municipality recently resumed the responsibility for the clean up of Asla Park and surrounding areas, the cleanliness of the area is starkly evident.
