MOSSEL BAY NEWS - An annual highlight on the Mossel Bay calendar is the year-end fundraiser for Leolan Academy for children with special needs.
Every year, the learners shine as they take to the stage, performing their items. This year was truly exceptional as the learners participated in the Oscar-themed event, paying tribute to one of their beloved fellow learners, David Rourke, who passed away recently.
The older learners recited a poem to honour David's life, following a presentation of photographs of him. David's parents received his Oscar - a lifetime achievement award during an emotional handover.
Each learner received their very own Oscar for their particular achievements during the year.
Antoinette Snyders hands an Oscar to Ofeswa Jusiya, known for her beautiful singing voice.
The presentations were interspersed with vocal and dance items as part of the entertainment presented by the learners.

The audience loved every minute of the performance and the learners blossomed on stage as they received thundering applause.
