MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Business Chamber held its monthly networking function last week.
It took place at the Suzuki Mossel Bay dealership in Voorbaai.
Dealer principal Chris Koen spoke about the successes of the dealership over the past two years.
He noted it had bought both the Suzuki and VW dealerships in Knysna.
He told Mossel Bay Advertiser that small Suzuki vehicles were popular because they were priced reasonably, they were reliable, the parts were affordable and they were economical to drive.

Antonnet Botha of the Gouritz Cluster Biosphere Reserve (GCBR) spoke about the tremendous diversity of the flora in the reserve and of the practical projects undertaken by the Friends of the Biosphere Programme, such as eradication of black wattle, clearing of other alien vegetation and provision of a water tank and facilitation of a vegetable garden for an education institution, so that children could have food security.
Donations
She requested donations for the reserve, saying that companies could donate whichever amount they could afford, noting that there was a bakery which donated R1 per a certain product that it sold.
She also said the reserve was in need of volunteers and encouraged people to become Friends of the Biosphere.
Botha is the Friends of the Biosphere Programme coordinator.
Dieter Jansen, a life coach, speaker and trainer, spoke of the sector-specific workshops he is arranging for various sectors of industry in Mossel Bay on behalf of the business chamber.
The aim is to provide an overview of happenings in Mossel Bay and where there are opportunities for businesses.
This is so that business people will have a long-term view of Mossel Bay developments, reaching to 2050.
The municipality's communication officer: council support, Aydn Parrott, said a workshop on the municipality's sustainable development goals (SDGs) would take place on 16 and 17 April.
Members of business, faith-based and other sectors are welcome.
The municipality's projects and work align with the objectives of the United Nations' SDGs.

Business chamber chairman Albert Wiffen said the chamber annual general meeting would take place in June.
The guests at the networking session chatted among themselves enthusiastically and enjoyed the refreshments provided by Suzuki.
