MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Surf Lifesaving Club (MBSLC) thanks the community for its support of its Open Day held this month.
The club is a non-profit organisation that relies on its members and sponsors to deliver a valuable service to holiday makers and the local community by keeping watch over our beaches.
The programme is voluntary, therefore the club, based at Dias Beach, is always in need of and greatly appreciates assistance from those who can help.
Here are ways in which you could help, if you are able.
The club requires the following:
- Stackable chairs and tables – these are necessary for training sessions and meetings.
- Damp proofing – the shower area at the back of the clubhouse needs to be damp proofed.
- Paint for inside of club house.
- High quality tent pole-type gazebos – these are used as lifeguard stations on the beaches.
- Lifeguard towers – the height provides extra visibility on the beaches for the lifeguards.
- Gas braai for boerewors rolls sales to raise funds.
- Lucky draw prizes and main prizes for the club's Beach Moon Run fundraiser which is held in December.
- Sound system and wireless spotlights to be used in dark areas of the beach for the Beach Moon Run (donate or lend to the club please).
- Easter eggs / sweets for the Easter egg hunt held in April.
- Retail stores to let the club know if they are willing to keep MBSLC tins for coin donations at the pay points in-store.
There are various benefits in return for sponsorships and donations such as a Section 18A tax certificate and branding/ promotional opportunities.
Anyone who is interested is welcome to approach the club chairman, Wade Shaw (chairman@mbslc.org).
