MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Despite swirling rumours that this year’s Buffalo Rally might be the last, Luderick Jacoby (74), chairperson of the Nomads Motorcycle Club, has firmly denied any plans to end the iconic event.
Speaking after the 45th Buffalo Rally, which was hosted for the 17th time in Mossel Bay this past weekend, Jacoby reassured bikers and fans alike that the rally is here to stay.
Jacoby, who has been at the helm of organising the rally for the past 30 years, acknowledged, however, that the time may be coming for him to pass the baton. “I’m getting old,” he said.
“We need someone to take over and keep the spirit of the rally alive.”

More than 1 500 bikers from across South Africa descended on Mossel Bay for the annual event,
One of the weekend’s standout moments was the mass ride through the town on Saturday — a favourite tradition among participants and locals alike.
Jacoby reported that the rally went off without a hitch. “There were no major incidents, and everything went according to plan,” he said.
