Cabinet had resolved this week to move towards the end of the national state of disaster, Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma said on Tuesday.
"As you would remember, a week ago, the president addressed the nation, indicating that, as a country, we are ready to enter a new phase in the management of the pandemic.
"Though the pandemic is not yet over, it was the desire of government for the country, as much as it is possible, to return to normality, but in a manner that recognises the changing nature of the pandemic," Dlamini-Zuma said during the virtual address.
