MOSSEL BAY NEWS - It was a joyous occasion when members of the Democratic Alliance (DA) executive management and representatives of the DA Women's Netwerk (DAWN) paid a visit to Buisplaas this past weekend.
Residents of Buisplaas, a rural settlement on the outskirts of the greater Mossel Bay municipal boundaries, were gracious hosts to the DA delegation led by Councillor Len Rauch and deputy mayor, Councillor Dirk Kotzé.
No-one, however, could have been happier that Aunty Dollie Buis, because the day centred on her. She was the lucky recipient of a new wheelchair donated to her by DAWN.
Community members expressed their sincere thanks for the initiative, indicating just how difficult it was for Aunty Dollie (88) to get around without a decent mode of transport.
The joyous occasion was concluded with beautiful song and treats proffered by the Buisplaas community.
The Buisplaas community were gracious hosts to members of the Mossel Bay DA executive and representatives of the DA Women's Network (DAWN) on Saturday, 14 April when Aunty Dolly received her new wheelchair, courtesy of DAWN.
Sponsors are welcome help make Aunt Dollie's room wheelchair accessible.
There remains a need for repairs to the ramp to Aunty Dollie's house, as well as adjustments to her bedroom to fully accommodate her needs.
