MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Anna-Mari Lamprecht has a passion for primary healthcare services and enjoys working in the community. "Primary health care is the first point of contact with a patient and can also be the cornerstone of successful treatment," said Lamprecht, who has been appointed as the new primary healthcare manager for the Mossel Bay subdistrict, which includes all clinics in Mossel Bay and surrounds as well as Great Brak River.
"I hope to make a difference within our primary healthcare services, with the focus on patient-orientated care.
"Promotion and prevention are important concepts, which will definitely get a lot of attention.
"We are also focusing on reducing long waiting times. This will be done through our appointment system, something which has been with us for many years, but will now be implemented with almost all planned visits to the clinics.
"Patients will now only arrive 30 minutes before their appointment slot to reduce the number of people in facilities, but also reduce waiting times. I hope to continue building good relationships with the Mossel Bay community so that we can improve health care, together," Lamprecht concluded.
She has experience in many fields of health including a surgical ward at a private clinic, and also many years as the operational manager at a clinic in Beaufort West.
Before her appointment in May this year, she was the operational manager at D'Almeida Clinic for 13 years.
She enjoys needlework and crossword puzzles, spending time with her husband and two children, and also supporting her two children on the sports field.
