MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The last round of auditions in this year's Mossel Bay's Got Talent competition, took place seamlessly at the Mossel Bay town hall on Friday following the cancellation of auditions in Asla Park, due to a disruptive audience.
A total of 37 participants performed 19 acts. A lot of fresh talent was seen. Some acts really stood out.
These included dancer Rain (Shane Claassen), new kid on the block Kid Danger (Jaydrith Saayman) and Stars of Hope (from KwaNonqaba) who performed a moving drama on the consequences of social ills.
In the end, the judges decided that Amor, Joe, Kid Danger, Rain, Trap Kings, Mental Coe, Rap Stars, V-Line, Traditional Dancers and Stars of Hope would join them at the semi-finals taking place on 2 June at the Bravo Lounge.
Entry costs R35.
"Arrive early to make sure you find a good seat. For more information, contact the municipal Youth Office (044 606 5224) or go to the office at the Indoor Sport Centre, Sampson Street in Extension 23," says event coordinator, Yolande van Aswegen from the Youth Desk.
This year's Mossel Bay's Got Talent showcase is proudly presented by the Mossel Bay Municipality and sponsored by the Garden Route Casino Community Trust, Bravo Lounge, the Mossel Bay Advertiser and Clique Cliq Africa.
Prize money is R10 000 per category (the competition has three categories, namely vocal, dance and open (rap, poetry, drama, bands, musicians).
The final showdown is on Youth Day, 16 June from 12:00 at the Mossel Bay town hall. Entrance is free.
